In recent years, Artificial Intelligence has become pervasive in everyday life in many different environments (homes, offices, cities, etc). The availability of intuitive and easy-to-use software tools, libraries, and technologies also opened the use of AI-based solutions to untrained people, whose background is often far from an understanding of algorithms, leaving room for far-fetched intuitions. As a result, everyone comes into contact with such technologies, from children to elderly people, who are generally very attracted to them. However, these solutions can be an opportunity and also a threat if not properly understood and managed. Promoting awareness of the mechanisms, opportunities, and weaknesses of AI is a right of people, and it is crucial to equip them so that they can take advantage of it and not be unconsciously controlled by it.
The goal of this workshop is to establish a forum for researchers and professionals interested in understanding, envisioning, and discussing the challenges and opportunities of AI awareness by promoting education for Artificial Intelligence, promoting aspects such as methodologies, educational pathways, and AI literacy.
edu4AI 2024 will be held in conjunction with the 23rd International Conference of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AIxIA 2024), in Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, 26-28 November 2024
